Always bring a camera around....

Cottonball in a staid mode
Funny thing happened while I was doing my usual chores around the house and Cottonball was in hyper self again. I think he was hungry. He was following me around and taking a bite off a toe. Sheesh. Well, I just wasn't able to take a pic of him getting off-balanced from his perch and laughed when I practically heard a thud when he landed on the ground between the space of the stairs and the curve of our fence. I had a feeling he'd fall again because he fell on the same spot before. Hahaha. I don't know what's up with that cat sometimes. My  feline comedian.

What makes you feel young again and a tad out of the calendar month?

From Bandai.com
I feel like a kid again when I catch some new animated series offerings that tickle my interest and since I always like storyboards and I enjoy catching Disney's blurb on what goes on the animator's desk, I will always have an inclination to check out any latest animated film or cartoon series.

An animated series gets my two thumbs up if there are story arcs, lots of action, mysteries, character developments, pretty decent cartoon faces, (so far I'm still trying to wrap my head on cubism and other stylized ways of drawing an animated character) and characters where you can empathize more or less. Well, being a grown up and we have that adult, cynical view of things. Lolz. Few animated series can knock that down and I'm hope more animation projects will come along.

So what makes me older? Well, checking the job section and it says. "until age 26." Lolz. I guess if you're thinking of resigning by that time, don't. Tough it up. Develop avenues that you think will assuage the tendrils of burn-out so that another day in the office won't turn out a chore.

Organic Mosquito Repellent

Bug be gone by bathbody
Dengue is very much in the news and while I was checking out my plants around past noon, a mosquito  made its presence known! Yikes, it had stripped legs. I hope it's not what I think it is. It's not a good idea to get sick today or ever in this time.

I heard the past week about onion peels can be a mosquito repellent so I surfed a bit and found Tipnut with gardening tips to boot.

My petunia last month
I didn't know onion peels can be helpful against aphids. *sigh* It ravaged my petunia and it's dying. Now, I understood that I need to plant lots of garlic for the plants. ☺ I'm a neophyte that it shows. haha. I also heard from the news about planting citronella plant which has a natural mosquito repellent factor for the garden. I will just do that.

Theodore: Psssttt, Simon what are you doing?

Simon: (creeps)  I'm just doing some pure recon here.  (sniffs) It's safe. It's only an inanimate object left by the humans. C'mon, Theodore. (nibbles) It's harmless and get your share before Alvin....

Alvin: Hi-ya!!!! (delivers a flying kick) Theodore! The monster's been taken care of, food for all!

Mondays Running Conversations

By pixdaus

The dancing moths ended the musical piece with swirls of high and low clicks then blended to a C note.

Mr. Praying Mantis: Stop...stop..stop.. It's not C note.

Moth 1: (admonishes his partner) I told you it's D sharp.

Moth 2:  (insists) It sounds better on C.

Mr. Praying Mantis: Who is the grand conductor of this outfit?

Andrea Corr in Manila and a moment for Sunday Scans

By Dayly Entertainment
Another Irish wave! ☺ I don't think I can afford this monthly gig of mine. Haha. Goodness, I remembered years ago that I seriously burned holes in my pockets when acts such as The Corrs,

From Upper Box A section

Patron Area Row H
and British-Norwegian group A1 came to the country in a span

A1 in Araneta 6th row, my cropping made it far
of months of each other in the same year! I so wanted to burn my credit card bill. Lolz. Well, I'm glad A1 came later in the year because I was booked for two dates for their concerts and there was that thing called airfare, which I wasn't totally minding. Oh, the fun it was it go out and enjoy your time with friends.

I'm looking forward to A1's latest album, Waiting for Daylight. Hearing the snippets of the new tracks played on their site made me think how much they've grown musically. It Happens Every Day, Bad Enough, Take You Home, Six Feet Under  are just among the tracks that spoke of the vocal growth, in my humble opinion as a fan. ☺ Although the track Good Things Bad People teases me as a listener that this song has  more meat in it that brings more flavor to the whole album. Ahhh, I want to buy the album.

Lastly, it's Sunday and it's one  for the Sunday Scans. *sighs* Seeing these pictures makes me nostalgic and it also reminds me that it's really high time to make the most of what I can to reach my screenwriting goal on other my blog Passages of the Pen, which deals with my writing prompts gathered from sites or anything connected to screenplay and on the side, books.  ☺

Before Ever After by Samantha Sotto

Before Ever After hits Top 5 on Amazon! Whoop!

I first read about the book  through Once Upon A Twilight blog unfortunately, I can't find the specific entry now but it was part of contest giveaway. After I read the summary, it made me think about the "The Traveler's Wife" more of the movie though and not having read the book. There were all sort of questions flying in and out and I was very interested in getting a copy and had written it down in my book list since I missed out the giveaway contest.

Weeks later my local bookstore, (National Bookstore) announced of a book launch. Unfortunately, I was too late to rearrange my sked and there are times, travelling to Manila bores me out of my skull. Then at the heels of the finding that out, my mom called me out to the living room since ANC's guest, was no other than Before Ever After's author, Ms. Samantha Sotto. ☺

Before Ever After launch at Glorietta 5

Summary from Goodreads. com
Three years after her husband Max's death, Shelley feels no more adjusted to being a widow than she did that first terrible day. That is, until the doorbell rings. Standing on her front step is a young man who looks so much like Max; same smile, same eyes, same age, same adorable bump in his nose; he could be Max's long-lost relation. He introduces himself as Paolo, an Italian editor of American coffee table books, and shows Shelley some childhood photos. Paolo tells her that the man in the photos, the bearded man who Paolo says is his grandfather though he never seems to age, is Max. Her Max. And he is alive and well.

As outrageous as Paolo's claims seem; how could her husband be alive? And if he is, why hasn't he looked her up? Shelley desperately wants to know the truth. She and Paolo jet across the globe to track Max down; if it is really Max and along the way, Shelley recounts the European package tour where they had met. As she relives Max's stories of bloody Parisian barricades, medieval Austrian kitchens, and buried Roman boathouses, Shelley begins to piece together the story of who her husband was and what these new revelations mean for her "happily ever after." And as she and Paolo get closer to the truth, Shelley discovers that not all stories end where they are supposed to.

If you've read it? Let me know what you think about it? My sci-fi side is showing reasons like paradoxes, alternate earths, or a missing twin...

Running Conversations....

It doesn't look staged right? Or we have a very well-trained cat and a kitten. ☺  I have weakness for cats, it's starting to be obvious. Haha. There was another kitty photo this morning but I wasn't to save it.  On with the caption...

Socks: (looks up) It looks too deep, Dad. *sniffs*
Widget:  Don't worry, Socks. I'm always here.

Saturday Snapshots: Ground Lily blooming

I"m ready for my close up

I wasn't able to take photos of the previous blooms due to the camera getting busted early but finally I get to take photo of one of the blooming ground lilies that my very dear friend gladly shared several bulbs for me to perk up the little pathway.

Dizzy? ☺
Hop to Alyce's blog and check out Saturday Snapshots.

Of things Middle Earth and Tweets....

Okay, not so much Middle Earth news as I haven't checked Sir Peter Jackson's FB page but what a surprise it had been when I took a chance and searched Twitter for one of the many recognizable names from Tolkien's world.

What's this? Haldir has a Twitter account too!

Unfortunately, my Gray Tongue is very, very, very rusty.

I forgot to look up Aragorn's Tweet page...

Game of Thrones

I've seen a few blurbs from Imdb several months ago and  HBO is finally airing the series this August. The preview will start on August 14 at 8.45 PM I think. I have to catch their advertisements again or hop to HBOAsia for the lowdown.

I really do hope the series won't get axed as mentioned in EW.com's article about the show.  The series is is based from George R.R. Martin books. Will I buy? I don't know yet. *glances at my growing book list* Even with National Bookstore Sale going on, it's not that easy to grab something off the shelf these days no matter how much I want to. ☺

The production stills feels like it's an epic one. I like the detailing done on the armor.

Thought I ransack my squee chest again....

There are days that a mention from a person taking care of the TV network tweet accounts can bring a grin to a fellow viewer.
